Limiting Beliefs Limit Others

Do your limiting beliefs limit others? Do other people’s limiting beliefs limit YOU?

This story might sound familiar….

“I was so excited to do X! I’ve been saving and dreaming of this for so long. When I told my friends and family I was going to do X, they all told me I shouldn’t. They said it was too ‘limiting belief #1’ and ‘limiting belief #2’. I started to second guess my decision. I was so excited and now, not so much.”

Has this happened to you? Have you got so excited to try something new or go to an exotic place or buy the thing you’ve always wanted only to have the whole idea shot down by the people closest to you? I have. I believed they were just trying to protect me, but now I realize they were projecting their limiting beliefs onto me.

It’s too expensive. It’s too far. It will take too long. It’s too dangerous.

How many times have you heard these beliefs?

How many times have you said them to someone else?

That’s a tough question to ask yourself, isn’t it? How many times have you pushed your limiting beliefs and your fears on to other people? I know it doesn’t seem that way when you’re doing it, but you certainly feel it when someone does it to you. The worst part is, is that you can 100% justify doing to someone else, but when someone does the same thing to you, they’re not fun/adventurous/young/affluent/etc.

Pondering limiting beliefs

They Just Don’t Get It!

You’re right; they don’t get it. The hard part about that, is they never will understand and that’s OK. The things you dream about are not for THEM; they’re for YOU. I mean, do you really think they never pushed back against someone else’s limiting belief? I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: THEY don’t live with the regret of not going after YOUR dreams. Are you prepared to let other people’s limiting beliefs stop you from doing the things you’ve always wanted?

I know you may weigh certain people’s opinions with a heavier weight than others, but will you still let that stop you? Think about where the world would be if no one went after their goals because someone else thought it was stupid or too risky. We’d probably still be in the stone ages, right?!

Your dreams, goals, message and purpose are what the world needs and what you need to create a fulfilling life. Do the damn thing…you only live once.

I believe in you.

You got this!
